About the Author

Craig E. Johnson (PhD, University of Denver) is emeritus professor of leadership studies at George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership, ethics, management and communication. During his time at the university he served as director of the George Fox Doctor of Business Administration program and chair of the Department of Communication Arts. Though retired from full-time teaching, Johnson continues to serve as an adjunct professor. He is the author of Organizational Ethics: A Practical Approach (also published by Sage) and co-author, with Michael Z. Hackman, of Leadership: A Communication Perspective. His research findings, instructional ideas, and book reviews have been published in the Journal of Leadership Studies, the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, the Journal of Leadership Education, Academy of Management Learning and Education, the International Leadership Journal, Communication Quarterly, Communication Reports, and other journals. In 2016 he received the George Fox University outstanding graduate faculty researcher award.Â Johnson has led and participated in service and educational trips to Honduras, Kenya, Rwanda, New Zealand, China, and Brazil and has held volunteer leadership positions in a variety of religious and nonprofit organizations. In addition toÂ teaching and writing, he enjoys working out, reading, fly-fishing, watching sports, and spending time with family.Â

I needed this for the college course I am taking. Way overpriced. It is actually kind of ironic that everyone knows college text books are overpriced but no one ever addresses this problem. Itâ€™s ethically immoral to force people to spend such a ridiculous amount on a book just because someone decided itâ€™s the only mandatory resource to teach and learn from and then you are forced to use an on-line library for your main papers. If I am told I have to have this particular book, then it should be the end all be all of books. I shouldnâ€™t need others to learn or pass the course. Maybe Iâ€™ll use this ethical issue for my final paper.

This book was required reading for my Ethics class. I did not read all of it, just the parts that were needed to do my assignments, but there are a lot of great examples and clear definitions. It was relatively easy to find the information I needed for my assignments, though some of the questions I was asked were hard to find in the book by using the glossary in the back.Overall it was good information and not too dry like your average textbook! Great deal on Amazon too. Couldn't find this book cheaper anywhere!

I can't believe I'm giving a 5-star review to a textbook, but this is deserving.All too many texts are written in academic jargon, completely unapplicable to real world situations. Fortunately, this is not one of them. Excellent insights and tremendous case studies make this a tremendous resource.I bought the Kindle edition for my study, but am actually considering ordering the physical book to add to my collection for quicker reference.

I'm halfway through an MBA program and have found this textbook to be the most interesting and well written one yet. It's quite lengthy, but the concepts are relevant and the content is applicable. Excellent book.

It's a great book for HR professionals. I ordered for a class but will continue reading for professional growth.
