A confessed firstborn herself, Leonard openly admits she did not enjoy being knocked off her proverbial pedestal when "The Other One," her own baby sister, arrived. Overall I feel the book was disjointed. It's most helpful for a woman still pregnant wanting to know how to cope with her own emotions about having two kids. I think I was personally looking for a book that talked more about managing the day to day with two children. I also don't agree with the bits about parents having to be tired and rundown looking all the time. How parents are definitely parents when you lack sleep and wear a one piece. I guess my experience so far has been much more positive and lively then what this sets the expectation to be. Lastly, the editing was subpar. Lots of typos and grammatical errors.

I was looking for more guide on how prepare my toddler for our new baby and how to handle when he's born. This was more of a feel-good book that made me realize I'm not alone in most of my concerns and fears but not as much about how to deal with them...

When I was expecting my second son I read this book because there are not a lot of books designed for mother's expecting again. This book was easy to read, warm and very positive and supportive. It was almost like sitting down with a friend who already has two kids and hearing funny stories about the journey. This book gives practical advice as well. But rather than giving you a checklist for what to take to the hospital, this book tells you how to deal with sibling rivalry. This book is very positive and while it addresses some difficulties you experience when you have a second, it doesn't go into great detail about them. But the you can do it attitude of the book is infectious and by the time you finish the book your worries about having a second will have diminished greatly. Read it anytime you have doubt during your second pregnancy.

im pregnant with my second and this book has helped ease some of the normal anxiety of expanding the family. I like that she addresses all aspects of the pregnancy including your relationship, your first born, your pregnancy and birth the second time around. Very helpful book.

This was an excellent reference. It was so great to hear stories from parents who have been through it. Hearing about their chaos has helped me relax about mine! It’s ok! It’s normal!

I really enjpyed reading this book- I almost didn't buy it because some of the negative reviews but I'm glad I did. I thought the author was refreshingly honest- I wish people would have told me about the rough moments the first time around. Now I feel more prepared and it is good to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. A good read- would love to read a revised version.

This book is a quick read, only took me a day or so to get through it. I didn't find it negative or too sugarcoated but realistic on what to expect. Like it will be hard but here are ideas both before and after the sevond baby arrives to make it easier. It ends with the author discussing her now two school age kids, and leaves you feeling like it's really a blessing to have children. I would recommend!
