This is a great price but the condition of the book is horrible. The package was outside for all of an hour and it did not rain at all during that time. Yet when I opened the package (about 5 minutes ago) the book was falling apart and has obvious water damage. The book is completely dry but the pages are wrinkled from water and there is ink that has bleed across the cover as seen in the photo. The quality of the book I received was horrible. The words are still legible but the binding of the book is peeling.

I have tutored Technical Writing for several years and each course uses a different textbook. I have found this to be the best book I've used. The students find it helpful and easy to use. It is also a great resource for subjects such as resumes, cover letters, and general business communications.

Five weeks into the semester, and I find this book to be easy to navigate and very well-written. The author is obviously well-versed in the subject matter, as it all has seemed relevant and applicable to real-world situations. The chapters are organized and thorough. For example, the chapter on correspondence is broken out into sections on writing letters, memos, emails and microblogs. It covers most any format one will use.Additionally, the samples that the author uses tend to be tightly interwoven with the subject at hand; that should be common sense, but some textbooks use samples that don't tie together all the aspects of the lesson. Sidebars highlight important pieces of the text.I am a returning student, out of the classroom (even virtually) for about 30 years, and I find this book readable and informative.

I wish I hadn't rented it because it would be good to keep as a reference for writing and copy editing.

Lot's of good material in this book. I may buy it at the end of the class and rental period to keep on hand for writing future job related reports, memos, resumes, etc.

This is the worst looking textbook I have ever received. I purchased and â€œNewâ€ copy of this book. I could have saved 30$ buying a used copy and possibly wouldâ€™ve ended up with a better looking book.

Really informative book, helpful with drafting nearly all documents that can be found in the business world. One of the few textbooks I kept from my first two years in college. It was originally a rental, and was in good condition.

Only this book in particular was in extremely poor condition, I definitely do not recommend renting this book that I rented. The spine of the book is split into twoâ€˜s, pages are falling out, although no pages are missing. Plus the book looks like itâ€™s been used by 500 students. You pay for a poor mans price, it looks like a poor mans book. However! The textbook is very informative, and Mike Markel is extremely helpful in writing documents, reports, recommendations, etc...
